Description of FGCU softball and Director Alycia Bachkora

SHU TeamThis Revolution Softball Camp will be directed by FGCU's Assistant Softball Coach Alycia Bachkora. Alycia is in her 3rd season as the assistant coach for the Eagles.

Last season, Bachkora helped the Eagles to its highest fielding percentage in program history, most double plays ever (28) and 12 fewer errors than last year (62 in 2012, 74 in 2011). She helped Regan Knapik break the single-season assists record while Kristen Bembnowski and Emily Lanier were named second team All-Conference in the infield. Bachkora also helped the Eagles hitters raise their team batting average by 10 points.

In her first season, Bachkora led the Eagles to a third-place finish in the Atlantic Sun with a league record of 14-6 (31-25 overall). She helped decrease the amount of errors on the field and boosted the team batting average by 10 points. Under her watch, three infielders – Tori Williams, Emily Lanier and Kirsten Bembnowski – were named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen Team.

Prior to FGCU, Bachkora was a volunteer assistant at Kansas. She had multiple responsibilities with the Jayhawk softball team, but worked primarily on hitting and with the team's infielders.

Bachkora graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor's degree in cell and molecular biology and a minor in psychology. Following graduation, she served as an assistant coach for the Wichita Mustangs softball club.

An All-Missouri Valley second team selection her senior season, Bachkora was a four-year letterwinner for the Braves' softball team and was named to the MVC's All-Tournament team in 2009. Bachkora also became Bradley's single-season (10) home run record holder and career (16) home run record holder, while being named the school's offensive player of the year and 4-D award (Determination, Discipline, Dedication and Desire) winner her senior year.

Other staff members will include FGCU's assistant coaches, talented local high school coaches, as well as FGCU softball players.
